The wine has a golden, straw-yellow color and a lovely, complex aroma of acacia, eucalyptus, hazelnut and smoky nuances as well as notes of apricot, chamomile and citronella. The volcanic soils of this region are a diverse mix of rocks, ash, sands, and clays that have been deposited over many millenia, contribute to the wine’s mineral sensations. Nanni Copé is the childhood nickname of the winery’s proprietor, Giovanni Ascione, whose agronomic philosophy is aimed at minimizing interventions and meticulous recordkeeping on a vine-by-vine basis.
